February 27, 2010 - Spring is Coming

The girls are all finished molting now and have resumed laying eggs--well most of them anyway. I'm getting between 12 and 15 eggs a day from 22 hens. The oldest girls are 2 years old now and lay extra large eggs but less often than the 1year old girls.

Here are a few photos on a cloudy day showing off their new feathers--well except for one Rhode Island Red who is 2 now and still hasn't molted or stopped laying--poor dear!
