View of the pond at 2 years

This a view of the pond in summer 2000--two years old.

Again, the pond edge is not curved.

We experimented with water lilies and other aquatic plants the first year, but gave up. Just like all the books said, the fish make a mess of the plants. They dig out the water lilies and spill planting soil on the bottom of the pond. And they eat the roots off of floating plants.

Oh well, the fish are getting big enough now, they can be the main attraction.
