View of the Pond the first year.

This a view of the pond in spring 1999--one full year since completion.

The the pond edge is not curved. I master the panoramic picture in Year 3!

The ph is very high, over 8, but as Doug predicted, the fish have adapted. The only fish loss we have had so far is due to jumping out. This problem only occurred with one new fish.

The bigger problem has been "losing" fish down the bottom drains. There is a gently pull of water down the drains to remove fish waste and also small fish. They turn up in the settling chamber or the filter unharmed. We just net them and put them back in the pond. Doug says when they get bigger than the 3-inch drains they won't go down anymore!
