Construction - Visitors

Visitors Have pond and critters will come.

Fortunately our critter visitors have not been fishermen! Since pond walls go straight down over three feet, egrets, herons and raccoons (our friends and neighbors) can't fish.

Our Basset hounds think the pond is their water bowl. To teach them to be careful around the pond we pushed them in and then rescued them right away. Now they are very surefooted around the pond, but we always keep an eye open for accidents. While straight deep pond walls are good to prevent poachers, they make escape from the water impossible.

We've always had great dragonflies, but this was the first time I'd seen a red one.

The first year we had a total of five young bullfrogs--two shown. They were gone the second year.

This is the last page of our construction tour. Comments? Koi keeper/pond tips to share? Contact Mark and Jan at the address below.
