Construction - Rocks

Rocks The gunnite was allowed to dry thoroughly for three weeks before Doug placed the rocks on the edge. The placement and mortaring took a couple of weeks to complete.

The power hoist unloaded them from the truck, but a lot of manpower was needed to move them into place!

We were very pleased as the rock border took shape. I was already envisioning the future landscape softening and enhancing the natural woodsy feel of the moss and lichen covered rocks Doug chose.

After all the rocks were in place, they were mortared to the pool edge. Here is the completed waterfall and a huge pile of superblend planting mix just waiting for the next phase of pond building!
