Construction - Gunnite

Gunnite Rebar is bent to line the shape of the pool and filter areas. We were glad we weren't doing the rebar bending!

Doug asked me not to irrigate the week before the gunnite was due. Mud from runoff in the hole can get on the rebar when the workers are there, and then the gunnite won't stick to the rebar. Doug promised I can water to my heart's content if I can just wait till after the gunnite.

We didn't realize that gunnite is mixed on site so consistency can be controlled better.

Landscape protection screens were put up and the gunnite was "shot" into the rebar frame. Pretty messy!

The day was warm and workers moved quickly to shape the concrete before it became too solid to work with.
