Construction - Before

This is the site before construction began.

We had a drainage problem at the edge of the concrete patio which was creating a muddy spot. Our Basset Hounds seemed drawn to that mud just before they came into the house.

Also, the patio has a western exposure, and we have extremely hot conditions there in the summer.

Landscaping plans call for a woodland setting with trees to provide natural afternoon shade. We are prepared to have some problems with algae till the trees provide shade.
